A pallet shuttle system works by using an automated cart that you can control remotely. These carts travel along rails installed within racking channels. Equipment operators place a pallet on top of a cart, and the cart carries the pallet to the first available position in the channel optimizing space This increases density and allows maximum storage up to the specified weight limits of the racking.

Pallet shuttle carts can also be lifted and moved to other channels. Using an automated pallet shuttle racking system eliminates the need to fill an entire aisle with the same SKUs. Instead, you can store and retrieve different SKUs in each channel of a rack. Pallet shuttle racking can replace drive-in racking, greatly reducing the need to use forklifts to move pallets around. Reducing forklift traffic increases safety and reduces collision damage to the racking itself.
When you need a pallet, the cart travels along the rail, positions itself under the first available pallet with the SKU you want, raises the pallet just enough to enable it to travel, and returns to the front of the rack channel or lane where you can retrieve the pallet from the rack. The carts operate with a level of precision that manual processes cannot achieve and enables you to use deeper or taller lanes in the racking system.
