HVACR controls distributor

Problem

Extending existing shelving into a building addition

Solution

Two-tier shelving system, Selective racking, Conveyor

Problem

As an HVACR controls distributor built an addition to their warehouse, they wanted a two-tier shelving system that would perfectly match their current system. Seamless movement between buildings for order picking was required. Sprinkler and lighting system integration was needed as well.

Solution

RMH worked in collaboration with the customer-sourced architect to design a complete, compatible system with two-tier shelving system, staircases, selective racking system and conveyor system. This included cut-outs between facilities to allow employees to move freely between buildings on all levels, plus a new sprinkler and lighting system integrated with existing equipment.

Results

Outbound shipments increased to 300-400 per day. The project included 5,800 additional shelf levels with 482 pallet positions. And packing speed and shipping was improved by 20% using a 170 foot conveyor and six packing stations.
